Reel Stories

Reel Stories is a free quarterly screening series dedicated to showcasing international queer cinema, with a focus on marginalized perspectives. All screenings are in partnership with City of Asylum.

City of Asylum builds a more just community by protecting and celebrating creative freedom of expression. They provide sanctuary to literary writers exiled under threat of persecution, so that they can continue to write and are not silenced.

Every event is free and open to the public.

Inspired by the Black and Latinx underground Ballroom culture of New York, Sun, Teddy, and Xyza create Ballroom communities in Southeast Asia as safe havens from homophobia, transphobia, color discrimination and HIV stigma.
